A basic X-Y-Z CNC platform with a Pick and Place head.

More PnP progress.

I’ve been doing a little more work on the pick and place machine recently. I have all the parts now and a test assembly had provided an updated to-do list. Top of that list is re-doing the re-work of the z-axis. I re-worked the initial design into something more refined. But a few of the dimensions need tweaking. There’s few hours more printing needed before I can test everything.

Without the z-axis I was able to configure OpenPnP to test the basics and got as far as using the down camera to find the fiducials and then move to the component positions. (The camera is the innards of a C270 webcam that can be seen unmounted in the photo.)
