Close Up of back of Arcade Game Control Panel showing Wiring.

Dinosaur King Conversion (Pt. 3)

In the previous two parts I’ve shown the progress of my conversion of a Sega Dinosaur King into a NEO GEO MVS machine. In the previous part I finished with the wiring of the control panel.

That just leaves the artwork. I had an idea of what I wanted and sketched it out. Olly Cotton of arcadeartshop.com did a fantastic job of turning my basic sketch, shown here, in to adhesive artwork for the control panel and sideart. (This is n’t the version I sent him, I removed the S logo and included the wording for the door on the final version.)

He was also able to print directly onto the back of a blank acrylic bezel I’d acquired from another ukvac’r. As well as the clear spot for the monitor, it also has one the same size as an MVS mini-marque. I can print mini-marquees to go with the games I have. Here’s the other side of the two player control panel I finished in Pt. 2.

The photo does n’t do justice to the quality of the velvet lexan/polycarbonate that is rear printed to produce a hard wearing finish. And here’s the whole cabinet complete with a mini-marquee to match the game and the side art applied.

You can also see the white vinyl lettering also supplied by Olly for the front door. I’m really please with the way it turned out.
